Stays on your Mac
Your recordings and transcripts are processed and saved on this Mac. No cloud service ever hears them. Share or export them whenever you want.
Knows who said what
Speakers are labelled automatically. Rename one once and every line updates, in the app and in your exports.
Hours, not minutes
Long hearings and interviews are fine. Silence is skipped, and you get Word, PDF or a transcript you can quote by page and line.
How it works
Record or import
Record a meeting or call, or drop in audio files: one at a time, or a whole batch with Pro.
Transcribed on your Mac
Speech-to-text and speaker detection run on Apple silicon. No upload, no account, no waiting in a queue.
Review, name, export
Rename speakers, fix words, then export to text, Word, PDF or a professional transcript.
Confidential recordings stay confidential.
HearingScribe has no servers to send your audio to. Recording, transcription, speaker detection and AI summaries all happen on your Mac, even with Wi-Fi off.
- No uploads, ever
- No account or sign-in
- Works offline (Pro activates once online)
- You decide what's kept and deleted
Made for long, important recordings
Hours, not minutes
Built for long hearings, interviews and meetings. Long recordings are saved in parts as they go, so nothing is lost, and stretches of silence are skipped.
Who said what
Automatic speaker labels that you can rename and correct. Tell it how many people spoke for even better results.
Professional transcripts
A PDF with numbered pages and lines, so anything can be quoted as page 12, line 4.
AI summaries, on device
Overview, key points and next steps from Apple Intelligence (macOS 26), without leaving your Mac.
Calls and the room
Records your microphone and, if you allow it, the other side of Zoom, Teams or Meet calls.
Batch import
Drop in a folder of recordings and they're transcribed one after another.
Pay once. Keep it.

Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs on your Mac. HearingScribe doesn't have servers that receive recordings or transcripts.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 13 or later. 16 GB of memory is recommended for very long recordings. AI summaries need Apple Intelligence on macOS 26.
Is the transcript certified?
No. HearingScribe produces automated transcripts for your review. Use a certified transcriber where an official record is required.
Which languages?
English, with Spanish in beta.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase of $29. The free version has every core feature, so you can try it with your own recordings first.
Does HearingScribe use the internet?
Only to activate Pro (once per Mac), to check for updates if you allow it, and to open links. Your recordings and transcripts never leave your Mac.
Do I need permission to record?
Often, yes. Many places require everyone in a conversation to agree before it is recorded. HearingScribe reminds you each time you start recording, and the rules are yours to follow.
